Goodbye Makeup!

Don’t worry it’s only temporary!

After a long day of wearing a full face of makeup, it’s time to say goodbye and take it all off! 😉
But seriously, taking off your makeup is so important! You need to be able to take it off, run your fingers across your face and feel no gritty residue!

So without further or do, here are my 6 most important tips to taking off your makeup.

#Step 1 – Ditch the micellar water and wipes, and replace it with Cetaphil:
Trust me, you’ll thank me later. Micellar water may be good with taking off small amounts of makeup, but overtime you’ll find that you’re using over 5 cotton pads. This is the same with makeup wipes, they are horrible and drying if you don’t secure them properly.
MY TIP: Grab 2-3 (slightly dampened) cotton pads, pump 1-2 squirts of Cetaphil and proceed with taking off your makeup. You will find that most of your make up will come off with just 1 pad. Continue this until you’ve used all 2-3 cotton pads.

#Step 2 – Clean the rest of your face with a cleanser:
This is the most important step. Although you may think that 2-3 cotton pads isn’t enough to take off your makeup with the help of the Cetaphil, cleansing your face will finish the job. By doing this, this will help with the process of removing dirt from your face, and leftover makeup that may be stuck in your pores.
MY TIP: Pump 1-2 pumps of cleanser, rub between two hands and gently, yet thoroughly scrub your face.

#Step 3 – Rinsing and drying:
When it comes to rising, it’s important that you use luke warm water. Ontop of this, grab a damp flannel (facial washer) and remove the excess cleanser. With drying, make sure you grab a clean towel and dab to dry. By dragging the towel to dry will further dry out your skin, and cause wrinkles to appear sooner… we don’t want that.

#Step 4 – Toning:
Usually once you’re done drying your face, you go on about your own skincare routine. However, if you don’t, toning is one thing you should introduce in it. By toning, this helps tighten the open pores and freshen up your face.
MY TIP: Squirt 1 small splash of toner onto a cotton pad and slowly dab around the face.

#Step 5 – Eye creams and Moisturisers:
This. Is. IMPORTANT. Some of you may be too young to say that you don’t need to use eye cream, but trust me this is vital in your routine. Keeping your under eye area hydrated will help in the process of an easier application with makeup in the future. It’s not necessarily to stop the “wrinkles”, but with a head start, why not try to prevent them as soon as you can? As for moisturisers, always apply a moisturiser or even coconut oil once you have completely taken your makeup off. (See Justbe23’s blog post about the benefits of coconut oil!)
MY TIP: When applying eye cream make sure you rub anti-clockwise to prevent wrinkles.

#Step 6 – Pout those gorgeous lips!
Before jumping into bed or going on with your daily activities, apply a lip balm to those gorgeous lips and keep them babies hydrated!
